Featherweight staple, Dan Ige has snapped his two-fight losing skid tonight on the preliminary card of UFC 314, turning in a contentious third round knockout win over Sean Woodson in their back-and-forth clash tonight in Miami, Florida.

Ige, the current number fifteen ranked featherweight challenger, had been sidelined since suffering back-to-back losses to both Lerone Murphy, and a stunningly short-notice decision defeat against tonight’s headliner, vacant featherweight title challenger, Diego Lopes.

As for Woodson, the lengthy featherweight striker suffers just his second professional loss tonight in his bid to enter the top-15 rankings opposite, Ige — having recorded an impressive run of six wins in his last seven straight outings to the Octagon.

But failing to deal with the much smaller and stout, Ige tonight, Woodson’s chin would finally be tested to its limit in the third round, with the former managing to wobble him with an overhand left shot.

And swarming at the Octagon fence with a slew of short shots in close, Ige would eventually force a rather dubious knockout win with Woodson sprawling on his hands and knees.
