Ion Surdu

“Dracula” is coming into this fight riding a 2-fight win streak, with both wins coming over former OktagonMMA Welterweight Champions. A swift left hook KO over David Kozma, and a brutal headkick KO against Kaik Brito. Ion Surdu has had a lot of questions thrown at him regarding him going up in weight, against a former Light-Heavyweight in Jotko, but has explained that he is a deceptively large Welterweight. He stated in December, that he walked into the Kaik Brito fight weighing over 90kg, almost 200lbs.

A win over Jotko would thrust Surdu into the conversation of elite talent under the OktagonMMA banner. After already proving that he is one of, if not the best Welterweight in European MMA, winning the Tipsport Gamechanger Middleweight tournament, would prove he is one of the best fighters in European MMA, period.

The Tipsport Gamechanger Middleweight Tournament

The Middleweight Champion, Kerim Engizek, along with Matej Penaz progressed with impressive wins in February, and the former Cage Warriors Champion, Mick Stanton and Mark Hulme showed levels in Trinec. The draw of the next round will take place at Oktagon 70. Once the fights are wrapped up in the final four bouts, we find out who is facing who in the next round, which takes place in the Summer.
