“The King of Rio” is headed to Montreal.
Jose Aldo returns to battle May 10 at UFC 315 as he takes on Aiemann Zahabi in a three-round bantamweight bout at Bell Centre, the promotion announced Tuesday.
The bout is the most recent addition to a card headlined by a welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena and co-headlined by a Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot women’s flyweight title fight.
Aldo (32-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC) most recently competed in October when he lost a lackluster split decision to Mario Bautista. The loss was his first since he returned from a year-plus-long retirement in early 2024. Aldo is 1-1 since his career break, having defeated Jonathan Martinez prior to the Bautista bout.
Zahabi (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) appears to be a late bloomer of sorts. After a 1-2 start to his UFC tenure, Zahabi has won five fights in a row. He most recently competed in November when he defeated Pedro Munhoz by unanimous decision.
With the addition, the UFC 315 lineup includes:
- Champion Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalenna – for welterweight title
- Champion Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot – for women’s flyweight title
- Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi
- Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales
- Alexa Grasso vs. Natalia Silva
- Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Bruno Silva
- Bekzat Almakhan vs. Brad Katona
- Nora Cornolle vs. Hailey Cowan
- Joel Alvarez vs. Benoit Saint Denis
- Mike Malott vs. Charlie Radtke
- Jessica Andrade vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius
