Jean Silva stole the show during Friday’s UFC 314 press event in Las Vegas.
To promote the promotion’s upcoming return to Miami, Florida on Saturday, April 12, the UFC brought out multiple fighters set to feature on the card, including Alexander Volkanovski, Diego Lopes, and Patricio Pitbull. However, it was Silva who garnered all the attention with his non-stop heckling of Bryce Mitchell, the man he’ll meet inside the Octagon at next month’s pay-per-view event.

Mitchell was immediately booed by fans as he came out for the festivities and it only got worse for ‘Thug Nasty’ from there. Every time he picked up the microphone, Silva would talk over him and even got the live crowd to join him in a chant of “F*ck Bryce Mitchell!
“Bryce Mitchell, calm down son, you are only here because of me,” Silva said before speaking over Mitchell again. “I have some advice for you: don’t pick up the mic, it’s getting ugly. Don’t do that. Nobody wants to hear from you. No one wants to listen to you.”
“Not even you believe in yourself,” Silva added.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Mitchell replied. “I don’t believe in myself, I believe in the power of Christ that lives within my heart. You have ‘Lord’ on your chest, I have the lord within my heart. We’ll see who wins.”
A month out, things are already getting heated between jean silva and bryce mitchell
Mitchell has often found himself at odds with UFC fans over his controversial opinions about seatbelts, the earth being flat, etc. However, ‘Thug Nasty’ took things too far when he said on the inaugural episode of his Arkansanity podcast that Hitler was a “good guy” and someone he’d like to go fishing with.
Following his first-round knockout of Melsik Baghdasaryan last month, Silva called out Mitchell over his ignorant comments. Days later, their fight was booked. Considering Silva’s penchant for highlight-reel knockouts, many assumed that Dana White booked the fight as a way of ensuring Mitchell gets his comeuppance. However, the UFC CEO later claimed that it was Mitchell who reached out and asked for the fight after getting wind of Silva’s callout.

Regardless, we’re still a month away from fight night and things are already pretty intense. Needless to say, the next few weeks should be interesting.
