Drew McIntyre wanted a bigger match at WrestleMania 41 and he’s made that pretty clear – but instead of moaning too much about it, he’s focused on making the best of the situation he’s in.
To be fair, it’s a pretty good situation, too. He’s battling it out with Damian Priest, the man who took his belt at WrestleMania 40 last year. For Drew McIntyre, this is the culmination of a year-long story in which he’s finally going to try and banish the demons that have followed him around since Philadelphia.
Of course, he’s still putting in some tremendous work and he’s turning this into a must-see street fight in Las Vegas, but it goes deeper than that for Drew McIntyre. This is someone who has fought incredibly hard in the last few years to get to the top and on top of that, he’s also still as good as he ever was in the ring – if not better.
So, what’s next for Drew McIntyre after WrestleMania?
The future of Drew McIntyre
In our view, it’s simple: Drew McIntyre should win at WrestleMania. From there, he should be focused on one very important goal: finishing his revenge arc. We want to see him come out on the Raw or SmackDown after WrestleMania and tell the world that he respects Priest for what he was able to bring to the table at the showcase of the immortals.
Then, he looks down the camera and says “this is just the beginning”. Later in the night, regardless of whether or not Roman Reigns wins or loses in the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, McIntyre should be the one to attack him and leave him a bloody mess.
From there, you can kickstart the story once again of Drew hunting down the Bloodline. It worked before, and it’ll still work now.
