UFC president Dana White has doubled down on the fact that he isn’t particularly interested in doing UFC stadium shows.
For the longest time, Dana White has had a particularly strong stance on stadium shows. While he’s done a few over the years, most notably in Australia, he’s stayed away for them for the most part. A lot of fans have questioned this, and while Dana says that the unpredictability of the weather can play a role, many stadiums have the roof closed.
Recently, Dana White was seen to be in attendance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. The event took place at Allegiant Stadium, and after being asked about the experience, the boss made it clear that nothing has changed in his mind.
Dana White still doesn’t want stadium shows
“No, nothing will change my mind about a stadium show,” White said during the UFC on ESPN 66 post-fight press conference. “I mean, you guys were here tonight. Kansas City is an awesome city. The people here are great, I really like this town and the energy in that place was awesome all night. That’s the energy you get – not that there wasn’t any (energy at WrestleMania). What’d they have, 63,000 people there? You’re going to get some energy like they did. I am not a fan of stadiums. I like arenas.”

Dana White is a stubborn man and he rarely changes his stance on something. Still, when you’ve got the likes of Conor McGregor and Ilia Topuria out there who could easily sell to stadiums, it does make you think about why he’s leaving so much money on the table.
White has been able to make the UFC a great deal of money. Hopefully, he sees that there’s a lot of potential here.
