Former WBC silver super middleweight champion, Jaime Munguia has exorcised his demons tonight against French rival, Bruno Sarace, turning in a dominant and impressive unanimous decision win over the 26-year-old in their rematch clash in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Munguia, who had only previously suffered a decision loss to compatriot, Canelo Alvarez — who headlines tonight’s card in the Middle East, came unstuck against Marseille native, Surace back in December of last year.

Dropped with a stunning knockdown in the sixth round against sizeable underdog, Surace, Munguia was unable to answer the referee’s 10-count — suffering just his second professional loss spanning a lengthy professional career.

But tonight, under the guidance of Eddy Reynoso, Munguia utilized a much-more defensive approach to his boxing — and countered well.

Stealing many of the close rounds with flurries at the end of each frame, Munguia rode out a unanimous decision (116-112, 117-111, 117-111).
