Welsh contender, Mason Jones has rebounded to the Octagon with a win tonight against the returning veteran, Jeremy Stephens, spoiling the latter’s Iowa homecoming in a bloody unanimous decision win to open the main card of UFC Des Moines.

Jones, a former two-weight champion with Cage Warriors, departed the UFC back in 2022 following a loss to incoming feature, L’udovit Klein.

And embarking on a four-fight winning run in the European promotion in the time since, Jones extended his run to five straight fights with tonight’s win over Stephens.

Making his return to action following a splendid run with BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship), home town favorite, Stephens stood and slug it out with the Welsh contender from the get-go tonight — despite giving up numerous takedowns.

With his victory, Jones has now racked up his second Octagon victory, following a prior decision win over recent winner, David Onama in his first stint in the organization.
