In a recent interview, Parry Punch, top UFC welterweight Joaquin Buckley, aims at other top welterweights Ian Garry and Sean Brady. Three fighters have competing claims to a title shot against welterweight king Jack Della Maddalena. Buckley is now slated to fight former welterweight champion Kumaru Usman at UFC on ESPN: Usman vs. Buckley. The top welterweight laid his claim to the title shot compared to more stoic Sean Brady and the ever derided Ian Garry.

“Now, Sean-the only thing that’s lacking, Sean Brady, is the mouthpiece. Why you quiet? You number one contender, you should be making noise! … I feel like Sean Brady, as a number one contender, he’s so far removed from that shot. I feel like Ian Garry is even higher. I was just about to say that. Yeah, so you saying, okay, I thought that Ian Garry was put on amazing performance up from the first, second, and third. Right? Fourth started to get a little shaky, and then fifth round was just-oh my God, I never seen nothing like that! Like, dude literally crawling away from his opponent. I have never seen that before. Carlos Prates could have just stopped and just been looking at the refs like, ‘What is he-what is he doing? He’s forfeiting it!’ The memes are crazy right now. Think about that! Think about that: a dude literally get on all fours and start crawling away from somebody. Have you ever seen that, as long as you’ve been watching?”

With Joaquin Buckley taking aim at Brady’s lack of charisma and, as usual, insulting Ian Garry for nearly losing to the much-hyped Carlost Prates in the final round, this is the Missouri native’s way of staking his claim to the title as the most exciting and deserving fighter available.

Juaquin Buckley is doing everything he can to win exciting fights, ensuring he isn’t just a fighter but an entertainer for the MMA masses. If he is victorious over Kumaru Usman, then Joaquin Buckley is most likely next in line for the title shot.
