In their all-Brazilian clash tonight on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 106, Luana Santos managed to beat the buzzer in the second round — landing a rare americana submission win over compatriot, Tainara Lisboa in their showdown tonight in Nevada.
Santos, who improves to 7-2 tonight with her submission win over Lisboa, has inflicted the latter’s third professional defeat.
And turning in her fourth Octagon win tonight, emerging contender, Santos’ sole blemish came in the form of a unanimous decision loss against Casey O’Neill at UFC 305 back in August of last summer.
Tonight, managing to assume control on top against Lisboa after turning a counter strike into a takedown, Santos would wrench on the arm of her compatriot, eventually forcing a finish with just a second remaining in the sophomore round — with an americana submission.
