British boxing legend Carl Froch has once again hit out at combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani as their war of words continues to escalate.
As we know, Carl Froch isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Over the years he has been more than happy to call people out, whether it be fellow boxers or just those that he disagrees with. Now, in his role as an analyst, he tends to rub people the wrong way every so often – and, as it turns out, he’s wound up in a particularly random feud with none other than Ariel Helwani.
Helwani is best known for his work in the world of mixed martial arts, having built a name for himself as one of the most reputable journalists in the entire sport. However, his career hasn’t been without controversy, and he’s fallen out with fighters pretty consistently ever since breaking into the mainstream.
For some reason, Carl Froch and Ariel Helwani have decided that they aren’t big fans of one another. In a recent interview, ‘The Cobra’ had the following to say on the matter.
Carl Froch lashes out at Ariel Helwani
“Ariel Salami, oh Ariel Helwani some little skinny piss ant gimp, who’s trying to get into the boxing world. Everyone in MMA rights him off. Michael Bisping warned me, don’t give him his minute of fame.
Given that he’s also called out the likes of Jake Paul and Darren Till, you’d have to think that Froch may well be angling for a big payday that could lure him out of retirement. At the age of 47, he certainly still seems to be in incredible shape, and it’d be interesting to see what kind of approach he’d have to a novelty fight like that.
Either way, though, don’t expect him to go quietly into the night in this particular feud.
